Mahindra BE 6 Achieves Impressive 5-Star Safety Rating in Bharat NCAP Crash Tests: What You Need to Know

The new Mahindra BE 6 is the next vehicle in the lineup to undergo crash testing by the domestic testing organization, Bharat NCAP, which has issued its most recent set of crash data. The BE 6 received 45/49 marks for child occupant protection (COP) and 31.97/32 points for adult occupant protection (AOP). As a result, it gets a 5-star safety rating for protecting both adults and children.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)

Frontal offset deformable barrier test: 15.97/16 points

Side deformable barrier test: 16/16 points

The Mahindra BE 6 provided “good” protection for the co-driver’s entire body in the frontal crash test for adult passengers. However, the driver’s right tibia received “adequate” protection, whereas the head, neck, chest, pelvis, thighs, feet, and left tibia all received “good” protection.

    

Protection for every component of the adult dummy was evaluated as “good” in the side movable deformable barrier and side pole impact test (pole) tests.

Child Occupant Protection (COP)

Dynamic score: 24/24 points

Child restraint system (CRS) installation score: 12/12 points

Vehicle Assessment score: 9/13 points

The child restraint system (CRS) dynamic testing gave the BE 6 a score of 24 out of 24 points in the child occupant protection tests. The dynamic score for the front and side protection of the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies was 8 out of 8 points and 4 out of 4 points, respectively.
