Every Car Unveiled in December 2024 You Need to Know

In India, Kia debuted its brand-new sub-4m model, while in December, Toyota brought the latest Camry to our country.

Even though December 2024 is practically over, our market had a good number of new car releases during that time. Four major mass-market automakers took action in the last month of the year, either launching or unveiling a new model. Honda introduced the new-generation Amaze, Toyota introduced the new-generation Camry to our shores, Skoda revealed the Kylaq’s pricing, and Kia debuted its new sub-4m offering in India. Let’s examine each of these models in greater depth.

2024 Honda Amaze

Price Range: Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10.90 Lakh

The 2024 Honda Amaze was introduced with introductory, ex-showroom prices across India starting at Rs 8 lakh. Along with extra features and an improved safety package, this third-generation Amaze has a completely new exterior and interior design.

Honda has fitted the Amaze with a 7-inch semi-digital driver’s display, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and automatic air conditioning. Additionally, it has features like wireless phone charging, a PM2.5 cabin air filter, and a remote engine start/stop. It has six airbags (as standard), traction control, hill hold assistance, a rearview camera, and even the LaneWatch camera, which is also found on the City and Elevate, to ensure the safety of its passengers. Moreover, the Amaze is the first subcompact sedan featuring advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) in India.

A 90 PS 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine powers the Honda Amaze. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 7-step CVT automatic gearbox.

Skoda Kylaq

Rs 7.89 lakh To Rs 14.40 Lakh

Skoda just revealed the Kylaq’s costs in December 2024, a month after revealing its first sub-4m SUV. The Kylaq and the Kushaq have nearly identical design language; however, the Kylaq sets itself apart with innovative split-LED headlights and LED tail lights. The interior of the dashboard is identical to that of other Skoda vehicles that are on the market.

A 10.1-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch completely digital driver’s display, cruise control, auto air conditioning, ventilated and 6-way powered front seats, and more are features of the Kylaq. It also has a single-pane sunroof and a wireless phone charger. Electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera, and six airbags (as standard) ensure safety.

Only the Kylaq with a 1-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 115 PS and a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission (AT) is available from Skoda.

Kia Syros

Expected Price: Rs 9.70 Lakh Onwards

In December 2024, the Kia Syros, the nation’s newest sub-4m vehicle, also made its debut. In the carmaker’s Indian portfolio, the Syros bridges the gap between the Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos. Its conventional boxy SUV shape was influenced by the Kia EV9. In Kia India’s range, the Syros is the first ICE (internal combustion engine) model having flush-type door handles.

A 5-inch screen for climate control, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, and two 12.3-inch screens—one for the infotainment and one for the driver’s display—are just a few of the many goodies that the Syros has to offer. Additionally, it has an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, and 64-color ambient lighting. Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and level 2 advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) are among the Syros’s safety features.

Two engine options are available for the Syros: a 1.5-liter diesel with 116 PS and a 1-liter turbo-petrol with 120 PS. Although both have a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, the latter has a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission (AT), while the former has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as an option.

2024 Toyota Camry

Price: Rs 48 Lakh

The next-generation Toyota Camry was the most expensive vehicle mass-market automakers released in December 2024. Sharp C-shaped LED DRLs and tail lights, along with sleek LED headlights, give it a new appearance. The interior of the new Toyota Camry has a three-layer dashboard with a dual-tone black and brown finish.

The 2018 Camry has a heads-up display (HUD), motorized rear seats, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, and two 12.3-inch displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment). In addition, the Toyota Camry has a single-pane sunroof, a wireless phone charger, a 10-way power-adjustable and ventilated front seat and 3-zone air conditioning. Nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and steering assistance are among the safety features.

The 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine that powers the brand’s fifth-generation hybrid powertrain is still present in the 2019 Toyota Camry. The system generates 230 PS in total output, which is sent to the front wheels through an e-CVT gearbox.
