There were numerous new releases and facelifts in the sub-4 meter and compact SUV market this year, ranging from the eagerly awaited Tata Curvv to the first Kia Sonet upgrade.
Let’s take a look at all the subcompact and compact SUVs that have been introduced in the Indian market this year as 2024 draws to a close. The SUV-dominated Indian market saw four facelifts and five brand-new SUV launches this year; please note that this list only includes facelifts and new car launches, not special editions or minor upgrades.

Kia Sonet Facelift

Launch Date: January 12, 2024
Price Range: Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 15.76 lakh
The sub-4m SUV received a new appearance and features as part of the first significant update for the Kia Sonet. The latter has a 360-degree camera, a driver seat with four power adjustments, and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. In terms of safety, the facelifted model was equipped with Level 1 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include lane maintain assist and front collision warning. Additionally, Kia repurchased the 1.5-liter diesel engine and manual transmission (MT) combo that had been discontinued in 2023.
Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Hyundai Creta, one of the most well-liked small SUVs on this list, has consistently led sales records. To maintain the momentum, the Creta received a facelift at the start of the year, which included a revised cabin and a revamped grille. Features of the Hyundai Creta Facelift include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone air conditioning, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and digital driver display. Hyundai Creta N-line

This year, Hyundai debuted its sportier version of its best-selling subcompact SUV, the Creta N-Line. By giving it sportier styling and a black/red interior design, the Korean automaker has been able to set it apart from the basic model. The Creta N-Line’s powertrain consists of a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which is also available in the Creta, and a 6-speed manual gearbox, which is not available in its basic brother. To make sure the Creta N Line provides a livelier driving experience, tweaks have been done underneath the surface.
Mahindra XUV 3XO Facelift

Launch Date: April 29, 2024
Price Range: Rs. 7.79 lakh to Rs. 15.49 lakh
This year saw the release of the facelifted XUV 300, now known as the Mahindra XUV 3XO. It got a major makeover in the shape of a completely redesigned façade in addition to a new name. Significant improvements were also made to the inside, including a panoramic sunroof and two 10.25-inch digital screens with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, Mahindra used this occasion to launch a more seamless torque converter automatic transmission for the T-GDI and 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engines.
Tata Curvv EV

Being the first mass-market model to feature this distinctive design, the Tata Curvv EV, the company’s flagship electric vehicle, stood attention thanks to its distinctive SUV coupe style. Nevertheless, it closely resembles the Tata Nexon EV in terms of interior design. Among the notable features are Level-2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. With a stated range of up to 502 kilometers, the EV is available with two different battery options.
Citroen Basalt

Launch Date: August 30, 2024
Price Range: Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.95 lakh
The first mass-market SUV coupe with an internal combustion engine is the Basalt. The Basalt’s split grille visually resembles that of the Aircross, but its style makes it stand out. A 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display, a wireless charger, and rear-venting auto air conditioning are among the highlights of the Basalt. Its powertrain consists of two gasoline engine options, a manual gearbox, and an automatic transmission (the latter is only available with the turbo-petrol engine).
Tata Curvv

Price Range: Rs 7.99 lakh to 15.59
One of the most anticipated vehicles of 2024 was the Tata Curvv. Although the front end has been modified to resemble the Harrier, it still retains the same outline as the Curvv EV. The interior, particularly the dashboard with its 12.3-inch touchscreen and 10.25 digital driver display, is modeled after the Nexon. Level 2 ADAS, a 6-way powered driver seat, and ventilated front seats are further amenities. Tata has two transmission choices in addition to three engine options, including both gasoline and diesel.
Nissan Magnite Facelift

Price Range: 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.50 lakh
There were no significant outward modifications made to the Nissan sub-4-meter SUV, the Magnite, in the first major upgrade. To keep things interesting, it underwent minor exterior modifications, and the cabin was given a new dual-tone color scheme. Features including a 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, and an air purifier are included with the Magnite. The two gasoline engines and three gearbox options of the new Magnite remain unchanged under the hood.
Skoda Kylaq

Launch Date: December 2, 2024
Price Range: 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh
Over 10,000 reservations have been made for Skoda’s first subcompact SUV, the Kylaq, since its release at the end of the year. Although the Kylaq’s exterior design is similar to that of the Kushaq, it is distinguished by a distinct fascia. With features like the two-spoke steering wheel and similarly positioned air conditioning vents, the interior is likewise somewhat similar to the Kushaq. The subcompact SUV has features including ambient cabin lighting, a wireless phone charger, and six-way powered driver and co-driver seats that are also ventilated. Its powertrain consists of a single 1-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 115 PS and an option between manual and automatic transmissions.
