The five-seater VinFast VF7 electric SUV is anticipated to be a fully built-up unit (CBU) and may be the manufacturer’s first EV for our market.
We received the initial information about VinFast, a Vietnamese EV manufacturer that intended to shortly enter the Indian market, back in October 2023. As a result, the automaker formally announced its arrival in India and started building its electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. Aside from teasing the VF7 electric SUV for our market, VinFast has now stated that it will attend the next Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
An Overview Of VinFast
VinFast is a relatively new EV manufacturer in the Vietnamese auto market. It is the only Vietnamese brand that has increased its footprint in foreign markets since it started operations in 2017. VinFast introduced an electric bus, two new electric scooters, and three electric vehicles in Vietnam in 2021. Two of the three vehicles were intended for international markets, and the brand opened showrooms in the US, Europe, and Canada in 2022.
