In addition to Hyundai, Tata, and Mahindra growing their EV lineup, Maruti and Toyota are scheduled to launch their first EVs in 2025.
The year 2025 is quickly approaching and is expected to be significant since it would usher in a new era for the Indian automobile sector. Over the past few years, India has seen a tremendous change in the electric vehicle (EV) market, with Tata and Mahindra leading the way. The scenario is expected to shift in 2025, though, as more new EVs will be introduced into the general market. In addition to the regular names, Hyundai is anticipated to release its most reasonably priced electric SUVs this time around, and Maruti and Toyota are getting ready to release their first electric vehicles.
This is a list of every mass-market electric vehicle anticipated to be introduced in 2025.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Expected Launch: January 2025
Expected Price: From Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom)
The e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric vehicle, is about to be released in India. Maruti recently revealed the first teaser for its electric SUV, the e Vitara, and confirmed that it will display the production-ready model at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Dual screens, a wireless phone charger, a fixed panoramic glass roof, six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are just a few of the amenities that Maruti may provide in the e Vitara.
Both 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs are included with the global-spec Suzuki e Vitara, which is anticipated to have a stated driving range of about 550 km. It is also anticipated that the Indian-spec model’s specifications will be comparable.
Hyundai Creta EV

Launch On: 17 January 2025
Expected Price: Rs 20 lakh
In January 2025, the Hyundai Creta will have an all-electric version. According to previously observed test mules, the EV is modeled after its sibling that is an internal combustion engine (ICE). Nevertheless, some visual changes are probably in order to give the Creta EV a unique look.
With features like dual 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger, the cabin experience is anticipated to be comparable to that of the ICE Creta. It will probably also have a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Six airbags and level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are probably going to be part of its safety net. Regarding its electric drivetrain, we may anticipate a variety of battery options and a stated range of about 400 kilometers.
Tata Harrier EV/Safari EV

Model | Tata Harrier EV | Tata Safari EV |
Expected Launch | January 2025 | February 2025 |
Expected Price | Rs 30 lakh | Rs 32 lakh |
With the introduction of the Harrier EV and Safari EV, two new electric SUVs, Tata plans to increase the number of EVs it offers in India. We anticipate that the company will also unveil the Tata Safari EV this time around, even though the Tata Harrier EV has previously been shown off with EV-specific metals and design components.
Both the Harrier EV and the Safari EV are anticipated to have features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone air conditioning, ventilated front seats, a 6-way power driver’s seat, a 4-way powered co-driver seat, a panoramic sunroof (with mood lighting), and a gesture-activated powered tailgate. They will probably have a 360-degree camera, level 2 ADAS, and up to seven airbags in their safety package.
We anticipate that these electric SUVs will have a stated range of over 500 kilometers, even though Tata has not disclosed any information regarding the electric motor and battery pack parameters. It is anticipated that these new Tata EVs will also have an optional dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
Hyundai Venue EV

Expected Launch: April 2025
Expected Price: Rs 12 lakh
The Venue is another Hyundai SUV that will get an electric variant. It will be the most reasonably priced EV in the Korean automaker’s Indian lineup if it is introduced. Although there are currently little specifications available, the Hyundai Venue EV is anticipated to have a design that is very similar to that of its ICE predecessor. It will probably have a range of 300–350 kilometers and a variety of battery options.
Kia Carens EV

Expected Launch: April 2025
Expected Price: Rs 20 lakh
Kia intends to launch the Carens EV, an all-electric MPV, into the crowded market for electric SUVs. We thought the Kia Carens EV was based on the 3-row MPV when it was first mentioned in 2022 as a leisure EV geared towards India. Regarding the forthcoming Carens EV for India, the automaker provided no technical information. However, we think that with a single motor layout, its claimed range will probably be between 400 and 500 miles.
The standard Carens’ dual digital screens (10.25-inch each for infotainment and instrumentation), wireless phone charging, heated front seats, and sunroof are anticipated to be included in the electric MPV.
Mahindra XUV400 EV/ XUV 4XO

An entirely redesigned cabin and an improved feature package were part of the Mahindra XUV400 EV’s model-year update in early 2024. However, it is anticipated that this electric SUV would get a complete facelift in 2025, renaming it the XUV 4XO and following the Mahindra XUV 3XO’s design.
New alloy wheels, linked LED tail lights, and updated split LED headlights are just a few of the extensive design improvements that the XUV 4XO will experience. It may, however, keep using the same 34.5 kWh and 39.5 kWh battery pack configurations. It is connected to a single electric motor that generates 310 Nm and 150 PS. The larger 39.4 kWh battery has a range of 456 km, while the 34.5 kWh battery has a MIDC estimated range of 375 km.
Mahindra XEV 7e

Expected Price: Rs 20.9 lakh
The all-electric XUV700, which Mahindra just filed for a trademark for, may be known as the XEV 7e. In essence, the XEV 7e will be the SUV variant of the previously released XEV 9e electric SUV-coupe. The XEV 7e will resemble the XUV700 in appearance, but the XEV 9e will serve as the model for its fascia.
In fact, the cabin of the recently released Mahindra XEV 9e and the XEV 7e appear nearly identical in some leaked interior photos. It has piano black inserts on the center console and the same dual-tone black and white cabin decor. The dashboard’s triple screen arrangement—likely each measuring 12.3 inches—for the infotainment, passenger, and driver’s displays is its primary feature. It also has a two-spoke steering wheel with the “Infinity” emblem lighted on it.
Although Mahindra has not revealed any information regarding the XEV 7e’s electric motor and battery pack characteristics, we anticipate that it will have the same battery pack options as the XEV 9e, which might result in a stated driving range of roughly 650 km (MIDC Part I+Part II).
Toyota Urban Cruiser EV

Expected Launch- May 2025
Expected Price- Rs 23 lakh
The Urban Cruiser EV, a rebranded Maruti e Vitara electric SUV, was recently introduced by Toyota worldwide. Features and powertrain have been retained from the donor vehicle, however the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV has a completely redesigned appearance and a new cabin style.
Similar to the e Vitara, the Urban Cruiser EV may possibly have features including a 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, and two integrated screens. Its global-spec vehicle is anticipated to provide a stated range of around 550 km and includes both 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs.
